The investigation was aimed at nine male suspects between the ages of 16 and 23, said a spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office. They are accused of predatory extortion, grievous bodily harm, theft with weapons and violations of the weapons law.

The searches took place in Berlin in Hellersdorf, Köpenick, Marzahn and Neu-Hohenschönhausen. In Brandenburg, officers are searching Letschin and Wandlitz. The “BAO Sirene” was formed by the Berlin police to investigate.

According to BILD information, one of the suspects, Janeck Wolfgang G. (20) from Marzahn-Hellersdorf, is said to have published a photo of himself on a social media platform in June. The investigation involves two further incidents.

► On the evening of September 20, 2024, six suspects, some of whom were masked, are said to have hit a previously unknown man at a bus stop on Hellersdorfer Straße (Berlin-Hellersdorf), brought him to the ground and continued to kick him there. The man fled into a BVG bus that left. When the police arrived, the allegedly injured man could no longer be found. However, officers were able to temporarily arrest three suspects near the crime scene. With the help of recordings from a BVG camera, some of the attackers were identified and assigned to the two right-wing groups.

A police spokesman: “A total of seven suspects were found today and processed for identification purposes. In addition, information about another violent act was obtained.”

Between “Young and Strong”, “German Youth Forward!” and the youth organization of Party III. According to BILD information, there are always staff overlaps in Weg (NRJ).
