Suspects are Adonis R., Aref R. and Abdallah T., who come from the well-known Berlin extended family. The raids took place in Neukölln, Mariendorf and Spandau. Abdallah T. is considered a logistician and was also involved in a spectacular robbery on a money transporter at Alexanderplatz in Berlin in 2018.
Benjamin Jendro, Spokesman for the police union, said: “In recent years, it can come as no surprise that in such spectacular crimes there are always traces leading to Berlin and to well-known protagonists.” Therefore, violations of the law have to be “consistently prosecuted” and assets confiscated so that “criminally acquired” money cannot be legalized.
