PESARO The slot machine gang strikes again and this time the robbers disguise themselves as the protagonists of the serial La Casa de Papel. The robbery took place on Wednesday evening around 8.30pm at the Las Vegas Play Park hall in Piazza Stefanini in the Vitrifrigo Arena area, in the Torraccia district where two criminals went into action by breaking in with their faces entirely covered. They didn’t choose tights or a balaclava, but an iconic mask. That is, the popular mask from the Netflix series Money Heist with which the protagonists hid their faces when they had to hit the vault of the Spanish State Mint. This is a caricature of the face of the famous artist Salvador Dalì: wide eyes and upturned moustache.
INSIGHTS
Wearing the face of Dalì, once they entered the slot machine robbers, they rushed into the cash register with their hand in their pocket, miming the gesture of having a gun hidden inside their trousers and pointing it at the manager who was at the cash register at the time. The manager immediately understood the objective and took refuge in the panic room, a room created specifically to take shelter in the event of robberies and protect the safe with the money.
The loot
The two, seeing the most substantial loot disappear, started hitting the door to try to break it down, but the anti-intrusion mechanism worked, preventing them from entering. So they gave up also because time was passing. They had time to take the cash from the register and steal around 200 euros. A meager amount, given the intentions. Once they escaped, the manager alerted the police. The police intervened on site and carried out investigations into the case and collected useful elements to try to trace the two. Video surveillance images of the premises and the area were also acquired to obtain any useful clues to discover the identity of the robbers. Once the two left, they fled on foot towards the Burger King area. It is probable that they may have left a car in the area or there was a third person waiting for them to escape without running into the police. The searches are thick and intense. And investigators are evaluating whether it could be the same gang that has already struck in recent days. In fact, on Sunday morning there was another robbery which targeted another slot machine, the one in Largo Ascoli Piceno, in the Tombaccia area, although on this occasion it was a solo robbery. A man in his forties showed up completely disguised by a balaclava that made him unrecognizable and armed with a gun. It was most likely a toy weapon, but without the red cap typical of blank firing guns.
As soon as he entered he immediately headed towards the cash register, threatening the receptionist and demanding all the money he could have in the cash register. The woman, in shock, handed over everything that was kept in the cash fund, a few thousand euros. Having scored the hit, the criminal took off on foot. Two cases in a few days, as if a battery of arcade robbers were in action in Pesaro. Also noteworthy is a theft inside the leather goods shop at Iper Coop. Here they broke the window on the Via Solferino side and stole bags and accessories. The robbery and the value of the goods are to be quantified, the police report is being finalized.
