Chennai: Actor and Makkal Neethi Mayam leader Kamal Haasan will participate in Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. When Bharat Jodo Yatra reaches Delhi on 24 December, activists Kamal Haasan and Makkal Neeti Mayyam will join forces. Kamal Haasan reportedly informed that he is attending the yatra by accepting Rahul Gandhi’s invitation.
AG Maurya, Vice President of Makkal Neethi Maiyam informed that Jodo is participating in the Yatra to protect democracy. Jodo Yatra is currently touring Rajasthan. The Padayatra, which departed from Kanyakumari on 7 September, passed through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and reached Rajasthan.
The padayatra will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir in February. Many prominent politicians, movie stars and activists have joined the padayatra. Former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan was also part of the padayatra.
