1998 activist, Rahmat Hidayat Pulungan, criticized Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok’s decision to resign as President Commissioner (Komut) of PT Pertamina to join the campaign for presidential and vice presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. Rahmat assessed that Ahok was not trustworthy.
“Ahok is not trustworthy. Yes, if he is not suitable and in line with the government, he should immediately resign from the start of the announcement of the presidential and vice presidential candidates,” Rahmat told reporters, Friday (2/2/2024).
Rahmat highlighted Ahok’s momentum in resigning as Commissioner of PT Pertamina. He was surprised that this step was only taken after the election process was approaching voting on February 14.

“The withdrawal period is already 4 months into the campaign process. The withdrawal will be at the end of the next month after payday. People criticizing them have no ethics, they themselves are the same,” he said.
He evaluates the decision Ahok to withdraw from Komut Pertamina is nothing more than a small change maneuver. According to him, Ahok should ideally complete his duties as Komut Pertamina to completion.
“Ahok’s resignation ahead of the election actually confirms the public’s perception that Ahok often makes noise, makes small change maneuvers and looks for sensations,” said Rahmat.
“If we are given trust, we will just work through it until it’s finished. If that’s the case, it will give the impression that he just wants to win on his own, only thinking about himself,” he continued.
Ahok Resigns to Join Ganjar-Mahfud Campaign
Ahok announced his resignation from the position of President Commissioner of PT. Pertamina (Persero). Ahok’s resignation letter was submitted today.
“This upload is proof of receipt of my resignation letter as President Commissioner of PT. Pertamina (Persero) which I submitted today, February 2 2024,” said Ahok in a post on Instagram.
Ahok wants to campaign after resigning from Komut Pertamina. Ahok will campaign for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md.
“I hereby declare that I support and will participate in campaigning for the presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. This is so that there will be no more confusion regarding my political direction,” said Ahok.
“Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!” he said.
