Raheem Sterling from Chelsea to Arsenal, Ivan Toney leaves Brentford for Saudi Arabia

Arsenal were particularly active in the transfer market in the final hours of Friday’s ‘deadline day’. Raheem Sterling arrived on loan from Chelsea, while Eddie Nketiah and Aaron Ramsdale left the club, joining Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively.

The Gunners, who finished second in the Premier League last season behind the unbeaten Manchester City Sky Blues, have carried out a serious summer clean-out of their squad. Thus, Nketiah and Ramsdale followed Emile Smith Rowe (Fulham) through the exit door, while several players including Albert Sambi Lokonga (Sevilla) have been loaned out. Reiss Nelson has notably been sent to Fulham for a season.

Announced close to Arsenal by the rumor, Ivan Toney has finally deserted Brentford for Saudi Arabia. The powerful English striker, who was in dispute with his club, signed for Al-Ahli where he joins, among others, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Franck Kessié and Edouard Mendy.

Like Sterling, Armando Broja has left Chelsea on loan. The Albanian striker has signed for a year at Everton, with an option to buy. He will therefore play alongside Orel Mangala, who has also signed for the Toffees on loan from Lyon.

Fireworks expert James Ward-Prowse has been loaned by West Ham to Nottingham Forest for the season. His departure will be filled at the Hammers by the arrival, once again on loan, of Spanish international Carlos Soler. The latter belongs to Paris Saint-Germain.

At Manchester United, the arrival of Manuel Ugarte (PSG) has allowed the release of the Scot Scott McTominay. The club’s child will discover Italy with several faces he will have known in England: Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Conte, or Billy Gilmour, recently arrived from Brighton. Cyril Ngonge also plays for Naples, which has not yet found a solution to the Victor Osimhen affair.
