NEW YORK – Nearly 200 firefighters are battling to stop a raging blaze that sparked Saturday morning in Brooklyn.
According to the New York Fire Department (FDNY), about 106 firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire around 7:30 a.m. Saturday that has since escalated into a 5-alarm fire with more than 198 firefighters in the scene.
The fire, which occurred at 3432 Atlantic avenue, was attended by 198 firefighters where some firefighters wore CBN suits to protect them from harmful substances and 44 units on the scene.
At the moment the FDNY is reporting two firefighters injured where one was treated at the scene and another was transported to a hospital in King County.
