Raftel’s original animation ‘No Home’ scheduled to be released on November 1
Photo provided by Raftel Animation OTT platform Raftel announced that it will operate an animation pop-up store in Seongsu-dong from the 24th to November 2 ahead of the release of the animation ‘No Home’.
‘No Home’ is a popular webtoon that depicts the growth of high school students Go Hae-jun and Baek Eun-young, who live together in an abandoned dormitory, and through the process of conflict and resolution between the people around them. The original work is the Naver webtoon of the same name, ‘No Home’ (author Wanan). Following the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award in the cartoon category at the 2022 Korea Content Awards, it was recognized for its popularity and workability by winning the main prize at the 2024 World Webtoon Awards, and the original animation will be exclusively released by Raftel on November 1.
The ‘Raftel You can register for on-site waiting through the Catch Table app, making your visit convenient.
The pop-up store consists of a total of two floors. It attracts visitors with its unique concept of inviting visitors to a space that embodies the ‘abandoned dormitory’ where the main characters, Go Hae-jun and Baek Eun-young, live. A classroom blackboard on which rolling papers can be used is attached in the first floor hallway, providing a space for visitors to write and draw freely, enhancing immersion.
When you go inside, the ghost character ‘Miyoung Sister’ appears, maximizing the chilling feeling of fear. By implementing a three-dimensional effect through detailed historical research, it provides a sense of realism as if you were in an animation.
A photo zone mirror was placed outdoors, which was decorated with eerie props reminiscent of the original work. The first basement floor also has a photo zone that recreates the abandoned dormitory in the animation, including the dormitory entrance, rooms and hallways, and the kitchen, providing a variety of entertainment.
Various events are held throughout the pop-up store. In the basement photo zone, one type of tibu seal sticker goods (random) using the ‘I don’t have a home’ character will be given away through the dormitory message quiz program. When you purchase more than 1 item at the goods shop, you will receive 1 postcard (randomly), and when you purchase more than 50,000 won, you will receive a magnet and postcard.
Customers who have verified their sponsorship of Tumblbug will receive a special poster for the ‘I Don’t Have a Home’ pop-up store. After visiting the pop-up store, a proof photo event will be held where a total of 15 people who upload photos of themselves enjoying the pop-up to SNS will be selected and given a free one-month subscription to Raftel.
Meanwhile, a play zone, a waiting area for customers who visit the pop-up store because they have no home, will also be operated. At this place, where anyone can enter freely, not only can you watch previews of animations before they are released, but also provide light snacks such as popcorn. The play zone is located on the first floor of Sim Office in Seongdong-gu, across from the pop-up store, and can be visited on October 25th and 26th and November 1st and 2nd. Operating hours are from noon to 7 p.m., and admission is allowed from 1:30 p.m. on the 26th.
An official from Raftel said, “The pop-up store without a home was created as a space where you can leave a proof photo while experiencing the feeling of actually entering the entrance, room, hallway, and kitchen space of the abandoned dormitory in the work.” He added, “We offer a variety of attractions and events. “We hope that many visitors will visit,” he said.
