Raffaella Carrà was 78 years old

Raffaella Carrà debuted on the screen at the age of 9. In the movie “Tormento del Passato” she appeared under her real name Raffaella Pelloni.

In 1961 she took the pseudonym Raffaella Carrà. The 1960s brought more performances in front of the camera, not only in Italy, but also in Spain and France. In 1965, she starred in the film “The von Ryan Express” alongside Franka Sinatry.

From the 1970s, she began to appear on television, combining singing and dancing in her characteristic style. Her appearances in the program “Canzonissima” (she was the first to show her exposed belly) aroused protests from the Vatican and the Catholic Church.

The biggest hits of the star are the songs “Rumore” (check it out!), “Best wishes” (listen!), “A far l’amore comincia tu” (her only hit in Great Britain), “Spera, aspetta e spera” or “Far l’Amore” from bobem sinclarem. The latter track appeared on the soundtrack to “The Great Beauty” by Paolo Sorrentino.

In 2011, Raffaella Carrà was giving points from Italy during the Eurovision Song Contest. In the years 2013-2016 she was a juror “The Voice of Italy” (first, second and fourth editions).

She never married, although she was associated with, inter alia, Gianni Boncompagni (author of her greatest hits), choreographer Sergio Japino (it was he who informed the public about Raffaella’s death), the singer Little Tonym and a footballer Gino Stacchinim (she was a huge fan of Juventus).

The cause of the star’s death was lung cancer – she had been smoking for years.
