Rafael Silva, Leixões’ 20-year-old central defender, will be Sporting’s reinforcement in the winter market. The Italian-Brazilian has played 14 games for the Matosinhos team this season, 13 as a starter.
The left-footed player (whose manager is Adriano Spadoto) has already undergone medical examinations, will cost 750 thousand euros (90 percent of the pass) to the Leon administration and will sign a contract valid for four and a half seasons, that is, until June 2028.
Rafael Silva (1.91 meters and 78 kilos) played in the youth teams of Ponte Preta and Cruzeiro, from where he transferred to Leixões last summer – in 2022 he had a spell at Valladolid, where he was teammates with Fresneda, right-back who the Lions signed at the start of the season for 9 million euros.
