World No. 4 Rafael Nadal has retired from the Miami Masters.

Nadal, a former world No. 1, will not be turning 14 this year.
perform in Miami. Nadal made his debut in Miami in 2004 when he reached the round of 16. The following year, Nadal reached his first Miami final – in which he finished second behind Roger Federer. Nadal is a five-time Miami finalist but has never won a title at the tournament.
Nadal has not played in Miami since losing to Federer in the 2017 Miami final.
Nadal played many tennis matches in 2022
After only appearing in one tournament in the second half of the 2021 season, Nadal made a stunning return in Australia as he won everything at the Melbourne Summer Set and the Australian Open.
Nadal took a three-week break and then returned to action in Acapulco where he won the title. Nadal will now play at Indian Wells Masters. During his pre-tournament press conference, Nadal revealed the keys to his success in 2022.
“I could always find a way to adjust my game when I needed to get better,” Nadal said in his pre-tournament press conference in Indian Wells. “Some days I played aggressively, some days I played a little more defensively and tactically.
My serve worked well, which is important at this stage in my career. Then I think I was brave enough to play with the right determination when needed. I’m just working hard to keep improving, but I’m happy with the level of tennis and the intensity I show on court.” Nadal is now focused on winning his fourth title at Indian Wells.
Nadal, who hasn’t won Indian Wells since 2013, plays Sebastian Korda in the second round. Nadal is still undefeated in 2022. He has a 15-0 record.
