. Grand Slam

By winning the 2022 Australian Open, Nadal alone held the record for the number of Grand Slam titles (21) before raising it to 22 at Roland-Garros a few months later.

With this victory in Melbourne in 2022, Nadal also became the second player in the Open era (since 1968) after Djokovic to win each of the four major tournaments twice. He never managed the Grand Slam (all four in the same year). Australians Rod Laver and Roy Emerson have also won all four Grand Slam trophies at least twice, but debuted before 1968. Laver won the Grand Slam in 1962 and 1969.
