Rafa Mella, the first to arrive | Radio Galicia

Rafael Mella Ferreiro (A Coruña, 11/06/1991), better known footballingly as Rafa Mella, becomes the first signing of SD Compostela for the next campaign. The right winger, with extensive experience in Second Division B, arrives from Don Benito and signs for one campaign. At 29 years old, the new Compostela player has accumulated nine seasons and more than 250 games in the category that until recently we knew as “Second B”.

With its incorporation, Compos adds to its squad an experienced and versatile player, since he acts as a right winger, but he can also do it as a winger, a footballer who also stands out for his speed, his daily work and his great ball hitting. These qualities that attracted the attention of the sports management of the entity for their hiring. He can, therefore, play in various positions and become a versatile footballer for Rodri Veiga, a characteristic that has already been sought in past seasons when incorporating.

Likewise, a Galician player who knows local football very well joins the project, since he made the leap to senior in the Racing de Ferrol, in Third Division, and debuted in Second B with the Coruxo, set in which he played five seasons. In addition to the Vigo team, Rafa Mella also played for Real Jaén, Madrid International, for Salamanca, Mérida and for Don Benito, the latter team from which he comes.

In this last campaign, in Extremadura, the Coruña attacker disputed the twenty-four encounters of the competition (one goal), thirteen of them as a starter, finishing the season in sixth place in the Intermediate Phase of access to the First RFEF.

The first signing for the new season adds to the eleven footballers who already have a contract for the new season: Pato Guillén, Borja Rey, Saro, Álvaro Casas, Queiruga, Joel, Jimmy, Samu, Roberto Baleato, Pablo Antas and Josiño.
