“Radio Waves from Space Reveal Possible Planet Hosting Life”

Thanks to the capture of radio waves from space, American scientists are convinced that they have managed to find a planet that fulfills the basic condition for the existence of life. The waves were caught using a radio telescope.

“We caught the initial discharge and it looked beautiful. When we saw it again, it looked like we had hit something,” he said, according to the portal New York Post American researcher Sebastian Pineda.

Sebastian Pineda of the University of Colorado and Jacqueline Villadsen of Bucknell University published in the journal Nature Astronomy article in which they discuss the discovery of the planet YZ Ceti using captured radio waves that could host life. YZ Ceti is about 12 light years from Earth.

After the initial capture of the waves, they continued their research. According to them, the fact that the planet reflects radio waves from the star it orbits indicates that it probably has its own magnetic field, and therefore a magnetosphere.

The magnetosphere is one of the basic requirements for life to exist on the planet. It protects the planet from cosmic and solar radiation.

But since it is not possible to see the planet YZ Ceti directly, the question is whether it really has a magnetosphere. The discovery of the planet and the research of its magnetic field can benefit further exploration of the universe.
