One-person game developers often proceed with funding to secure insufficient funds. If people like the released game concept or intermediate process, they help launch it by sponsoring or leaving support. Even now, numerous games are in the process of funding, and developers are working hard to create their own games thanks to the sponsorship. However, there are many cases where some of the games that have been funded in this way do not lead to release.

In the meantime, the game that had been funded 10 years ago drew attention by releasing a trial version at the Steam Next Fest. The main character is ‘Radio the Universe’, a dot-sensory action RPG about a woman’s journey exploring a desolate city. Players can use weapons and ability growth systems to defeat powerful enemies and bosses.

Radio The Universe was funded through Kickstarter from December 22, 2012 to January 24, 2013. There were 3,567 sponsors, and the funding was successfully completed by collecting $81,719 (about KRW 103 million), 680% of the target amount of $12,000 (about KRW 15 million). However, it was not released for the next 10 years, causing regret from backers.

In response, developer 6E6E6E left a message on Twitter on February 4, announcing the release of the trial version of Radio The Universe at Steam Next Fest. The currently released trial version is expected to contain even cutscenes, including boss battles, at a level where even the sound effects of various weapons have been implemented.

Currently, Radio the Universe can be played in English on Steam, and the official release date and Korean language support plan are unknown.
