Radio maker Skip Voogd passed away at the age of 88

Voogd also hosted Swing Express vHe also worked for the NCRV for many years, where he retired in 1995. In 1965 he was involved on behalf of that broadcaster in setting up radio station Hilversum 3, the current NPO 3FM.

In an interview at the end of his career, he said that after a few months he received an urgent request from the broadcasters of Hilversum 3 “whether it could be done with fewer guitars”.

In the same interview he called his time at the AVRO “the best time”. He preferred light music from America and France.
