The deadline for the Riviera Chablais Hospital to reach financial balance has been postponed by two years, to 2028. This is indicated in the report of the interparliamentary control commission of the HRC, which also highlights the situation emergencies, too often clogged with non-priority cases. The final report for the period from July 2023 to June 2024 was presented last Tuesday to the Grand Council of Vaud.
The interparliamentary control commission of the Riviera Chablais Hospital has submitted its annual report. Presented Tuesday to the Vaudois Grand Council, it notably includes four highlighted points. Starting with the economic situation of the establishment located in Rennaz, in deficit since its opening in 2021. Initially planned for 2026, the return to financial balance was postponed for two years after validation by the two councils of state. The cause: inflation and rising interest rates.

Another point mentioned: emergencies. Their waiting time meets the standards for grades 1 and 2, the most serious conditions. On the other hand, this does not apply to non-priority cases, known as degree 3, which represent the majority of emergency room arrivals, as Aurélien Clerc explains.
The report also mentions the situation of the geriatrics and rehabilitation clinic in Monthey, which is filling up. The facility is expected to be at full capacity by the end of the year.
On the Samaritain site in Vevey, the work, stopped at the end of 2020, should resume on the basis of an agreement signed in May 2023 with the HRC Support Foundation.
