CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TRAVELING MUSEUM TRAIN
Almost a year after its first stop in the city of Junín, the Traveling Museum Train has covered more than three thousand kilometers of tracks in 24 destinations in the provinces of Buenos Aires and La Pampa, where more than 100 thousand people enjoyed this trip by the splendor of different historical periods of our railways.
Before their first outing, the cars that make up this rolling museum underwent an exhaustive comprehensive restoration process at the “Ministro Mario Meoni” Junín Workshop, which also operates within the orbit of the state railway company.
Among them, the Presidential car that was used by John Paul II, the Lounge Bar car and the Cinema car stand out. Also noteworthy is the CT 1517 MATERFER car, where the most outstanding pieces from the National Railway Museum collection are exhibited.
Other attractions that complement the visit to the train are the exhibitions in charge of the Mint and the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires, through the Cultural Institute and the Ministry of Production, Science and Technological Innovation. The cars assigned to these organizations contain playful and interactive activities specially designed for the entertainment of girls and boys. Radio y Televisión Argentina is now joining this group with a cultural proposal designed for the whole family.
The announcement of the new destinations of the train is expected for the next few days, which will seek to continue expanding its reach to the other provinces of the national territory.
