Radio 5’s birthday party in Ågenskaln is rocking young people

Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv celebrated its ninth birthday with an ambitious parade of young musicians at Āgenskalns market on Thursday.

From From 16.00 to 23.00 at the music fair, Pieci.lv personalities and talented young artists took the stage: Bel Tempo, Vultura, Wiesulis, JL Kalmann, Elīza Legzdiņa, MARTA and the main artist – singer Būu.

Toms Grēviņš, creative director of Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv and one of the creators of the radio station, admits: “Insanely interesting and meaningful nine years! Speaking in the terminology of child development, we are at the age of adolescence, when anatomically the structure is clear, but development continues at a reactive speed. The core of Pieci.lv as a youth multimedia platform is unchanged – to be a conversational partner and give a ‘voice’ to both young on-air talents and young musicians, providing a springboard for seeing the brightest talents. And there have been many of them during these years – from “Carnival Youth” and rapper Anš, to Boo and “Sudden Lights”! And this is just the beginning!”.

The personalities and musical guests of Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv came to the fair with something special and dear to them, which they gave away to the visitors in the course of the evening.

Also, within the party, there were various activities corresponding to the market square – there was a vinyl record, CD and cassette exchange point, a photo corner, a darts throwing station and other activities.

On the other hand, DJ Artis Volfs (formerly – Radio SWH, now – Radio Pieci.lv) played the favorite records on the 2nd floor of Ågenskalns Market.
