The Radical Women of General Pico held the debate “Breast cancer. Find out more to prevent ”by Dr. Guillermina Angelucci, specialist in oncology.
The meeting started after 19:30, with a positive turnout, which was attended by 70 women and men and the main causes of the disease and the actions we must take to prevent it were exposed.
A return trip was therefore maintained also through interrogations with the public where doubts were resolved and the myths related to the topic were demolished.
The vice-president of the local committee, María Eugenia Forte, indicated “it is important to be able to have spaces for participation and dialogue in the problems that affect the lives of women, they must be aware that it is a problem that has increased over time as the statistics indicate, and with the tools to detect in time, we can save lives ».
“Breast cancer is a problem that affects us women in our country, where 1 in 8 women will be affected by breast cancer, being one of the most frequent and the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Prevention and early detection are key tools that increase the likelihood of a cure. It should be known that tumors with a diameter of less than 1 cm are cured in 90% of cases. The right to access to health must be guaranteed by the state, that although consultations are free, spaces are needed for access to safe and accurate information for all trans women and men “.
To conclude, the plastic artist Dora Rossi exhibited her work “Dreams that travel” where each of the participants was able to leave their message, a work that will continue to be exhibited in the Deliberative Council and will subsequently be moved to another related space to health.
