Now the blue ticks on the Taliban accounts have disappeared, reports the British Guardian. There had previously been many complaints online about Twitter selling its seal of approval to Islamists. The Taliban have been using the platform for a long time but have never had a verification mark. The main criticism is that the Taliban’s misogynistic actions and statements are enhanced by the hook.
Since taking power, women in Afghanistan have been disenfranchised and fear for their lives if they violate the Islamists’ moral standards.
