Well over 1,000 visitors have so far experienced the works of art in Lüneburg’s public urban space. They rediscovered the city of Lüneburg through guided tours, workshops and events. The artistic works correspond to their surroundings and open up new perspectives in the city through everyday encounters with contemporary art. In this dialogue, new ideas emerged during the exhibition period – so the exhibition became the location for the “Night of Music” and also for the “Tunnel Sounds”, which can be heard every Wednesday in the passage of the old city wall and were very popular.
On Sunday, November 10th The successful anniversary exhibition RADIANCE (‘The Radiation’) ends with the works of Ulrich Eller, Yvonne Goulbier, Sven-Julien Kanclerski, Gregor Kieseritzky, Louise Lang, Cordula Prieser, Alke Reeh and Bernd Schulz. At the finissage, the art association invites anyone interested to a conversation with the artist Cordula Prieser about her work and a final tour of all of RADIANCE’s works of art. The sculpture “Stranded Drifter” by Sven-Julien Kanclerski will unfortunately leave the town hall garden beforehand and fly to Hanover for repairs, before being exhibited in Berlin. Until the end of the exhibition, you can also register for guided tours at www.kunstvereinlueneburg.de. Hans-Malte Witte will play the saxophone at the next “Tunnel Tones” concert in the light installation “Passage” by Bernd Schulz on Wednesday, November 6th, 12:30-12:45 p.m. Like the entire Radiance program, the offers are donation-based.
Participating artists from RADIANCE:
SVEN-JULIEN KANSLERSKI
Town Hall Garden
The sculpture “Stranded Drifter (Hermit)” represents a lonely, stranded capsule that has stranded or perhaps arrived in the town hall garden.
BERND SCHULZ
Passage through the city wall/Liebesgrund
In the vault of the city wall and at the exit to the former bridge over the
Love reason, past traffic routes become visible in a light installation.
GREGOR KIESERITZKY
Am Graalwall
On the hanging beech, a sound work will explore the situation of the tree and the space below
its branches and the circumstances that probably affect it.
JUST LOUISE
Waagestraße
Through a brick window you discover a vanished place that once had a use. Looking through a glass installation creates an optical irritation at your own location.
ALKE REEH
St. Nicolaikirche
Two intersecting cones of light made of gauze shine from above into the nave – a divine connotation for the artist.
ULRICH OR
Conventstraße
The glass crossing of the narrow Conventstrasse is equipped with drainage pipes
Resonator of a visual sound installation.
YVONNE GOULBIER
Old crane
The weight of the Old Crane, a symbol of lively trade and transport in the water district, receives particular attention through the fluorescent light installation “Heavy Duty” and through the reflection in the water.
At Werder
In the past, the currently empty pavilion between the train station and the water district was home to an ice cream parlor and a bar and was a popular meeting place. Yvonne Goulbier calls her light installation in the windows “Happy Hour”.
