“History has clearly shown that differences are not the problems of humanity, but division and hatred. That war does not solve the problems, but on the contrary – deepens them, causing destruction, death and great suffering. This was stated by President Rumen Radev in his speech at the traditional iftar dinner on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims.
“I want to thank the ambassadors of dozens of countries around the world for sharing this holy supper with us, and let us use this opportunity to condemn together the aggression and the insane fratricidal war that is ravaging the lands north of us. And let’s call together for its immediate termination, “the head of state said, bTV reported.
“True victory is not won by aggression and destruction, but by peace and understanding. I want to thank the Chief Mufti for his cooperation. Let us all wish him good health, strength and wisdom in his responsible mission as a spiritual leader of the Muslim community in Bulgaria, “Radev added.
The head of state is again traditionally hosting the traditional iftar dinner on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims in Bulgaria.
Representatives of the traditional religions in Bulgaria and other religious communities in the country, representatives of the diplomatic corps in our country, figures in the field of spirituality, culture, education and science are invited to the event.
“It is a great pleasure for me to host the iftar dinner on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims. I do it out of respect for the traditions of the Muslims in our country. Iftar symbolizes good will, good understanding and cooperation between religious communities in the Republic of Bulgaria. Because it contributes to the inter-religious and inter-institutional dialogue in society, “Radev said.
“According to tradition, next month is dedicated to God-pleasing deeds of prayer and charity, but avoiding excesses. “Even more in challenging times like today, man is called to understand the meaning of spiritual food, the power of good will, empathy and love and understanding between people,” said the head of state.
“The wise Bulgarian people have built a sustainable culture of tolerance between religious communities and today continues on the same path bequeathed by our predecessors. “Our compatriots are showing it today and in the conditions of severe crisis and uncertainty they are opening their homes and hearts to the people seeking salvation from the war in Ukraine,” the president said.
“Today is the first day of the month of Ramadan, on this day we are guests of the esteemed President of Bulgaria at the iftar gala dinner. You have once again shown that you are the president of all Bulgarian citizens, without dividing them on ethnic and religious grounds, “said in his speech the Chief Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadji.
“Today’s table symbolizes the cohesion and unity of the nation. Ramadan is a blessed time. In our tradition he is greeted with hope. In Ramadan, we must not forget the socially weak and those in need, their fate is a test for them and for the rich, who must help, “said the chief mufti.
“The times we live in are difficult difficulties can be overcome when shared with others. The Holy Qur’an says that after every difficulty comes relief. The times we live in are difficult – pandemics and wars, and we pray that relief will come soon. Today our request is for peace and understanding. I am convinced that hatred will not prevail, because it is an expression of weakness, and believers are strong people, “added Dr. Mustafa Hadji.
