Radev is ready with a new cabinet – 2024-04-05 18:27:28

/ world today news/ Prime Minister Kiril Petkov has lost the trust of President Rumen Radev, and the coalition partners of “Promyanata” are worried about the protests against the government, which are already aligned with various sectors and civil organizations

President Rumen Radev is ready with a new government. This was confirmed to “Trud” by “Positano” 20 and high-ranking representatives of the opposition. According to political scientists, the collapse of the “Change” coalition is a matter of weeks or at most a month. An indicator of the serious shakeup in the coalition was the resignation of the Minister of Defense Gen. Kiril Petkov. Stefan Yanev, who was only formally appointed to this post from the PP quota, but de facto is a direct choice of Rumen Radev, as is the Minister of the Interior, Boyko Rashkov.

The first scenario is snap early elections.

It is expected that “Democratic Bulgaria” will leave the union, which both ITN and BSP are dissatisfied with. However, DB was the only party that, according to sociologists, had the potential to triple its result in early elections. In contrast, the BSP and ITN are melting the results, and Slavi Trifonov’s people will probably not be able to qualify for the next parliament.

Professor of constitutional law Plamen Kirov reminded “Trud” that if the government falls ahead of schedule, then within the framework of the current parliament, the roulette will be turned again with the handing over of the mandates. First of all, President Radev must hand over a mandate to the first political force – “We continue the change”.

Political scientists have reported that the people of Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev have no potential other than the current one and it is expected that they will not succeed in realizing a new cabinet. The second political force is GERB, which within this parliament and the current political situation, in the absence of a clear and stable majority, would not take the risk of forming a government. Whichever political force is in favor of adopting the third mandate under the constitution, it does not have the resources to gather the necessary 121 deputies. Thus, our country will face new early elections in the month of May or the beginning of June. Until then, again according to the constitution, Rumen Radev will appoint the next caretaker government.

According to political observers, Stefan Yanev will once again be prime minister, BSP circles claim that he will most likely head the new political cabinet of the head of state. Yanev is well received by the socialists and putting him at the head of a new party will continue to reduce the numbers of the Centenary. At “Positano” 20 are very worried that people from the presidency are going around the country with the call sign that the government is leaving in March, and the configuration of the parliament should be changed and a new political player should enter.

Yanev is also approved by Russophiles, his recent moves and statements have raised his rating among them.
The second, but less likely, scenario is for the government to hold off until the budget update planned for June. But political scientists believe that prolonging the life of the coalition is difficult because of the insurmountable contradictions between them, as well as the protests of various sectors of the economy and civil organizations.
