“I don’t work. More precisely, they don’t work with me – for many things. I’m not talking about the SANS employees, but about the bosses.” This was stated by President Rumen Raden in Pirdop in response to a journalist’s question whether he expects there to be castlings of heads of services.
By law, the same amount and content of information must be provided to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister and the President. This requirement of the law in many cases has not been met and it can be easily proven, Radev explained.
Asked to comment on the fact that the heads of SANS and DAR were on leave, Radev said: “Obviously the example of the former prime minister to hide behind vacations and sick leave turned out to be too contagious for his subordinates. Obviously this cannot happen without his blessing. “
Asked whether this means that dismissals should be expected in SANS and DAR, the President replied: “The abdication of responsibility for national security in challenging stages for Bulgaria by the heads of these services is a clear sign that their loyalty has been and is in the moment to Borissov, not to Bulgaria. “
However, Radev has not yet had a proposal from the caretaker government for reshuffles at the top of the services and explained that these issues are decided by the executive branch.
Radev took part in a video conference on “German-Bulgarian economic relations: current situation and prospects” in Pirdop.
How to remember “Borisov 1 and 2”? What do you mean by layoffs, how many people are fired? Do you know how many thousands of people were fired immediately, Radev asked.
This is not about making dismissals and castlings, but about principles. There must be accountability, responsibility and zero tolerance for crime, for disloyalty – not to me, not to the cabinet, to Bulgaria, Radev commented.
Two months is too short a period for any government, but it is important that the signal is given to take a principled stand. At the moment we need to strengthen the statehood – to show statehood, to start talking and acting for the rule of law, to stop abuses and thefts, for the accumulated huge backstage, for a real separation of powers, said the head of state.
Radev participated in a video conference on “German-Bulgarian economic relations: current status and prospects.” The Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Christoph Eichhorn, representatives of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the German business in our country are taking part in the videoconference.
The event is held in the administrative building of the copper mining plant of Aurubis Bulgaria AD near Pirdop. During his visit, the head of state will inspect the copper plant and hold a meeting with its management, as well as with representatives of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
