“I expect constructive and clear positions from the parties so that we have something to discuss.” This was stated by President Rumen Radev in response to a question about the proposal to convene a meeting of the National Security Advisory Council (NCSC) on the occasion of the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures in our country.
The head of state commented on this issue to Bulgarian journalists in Brussels, where he participated in the two-day meeting of the European Council, BTA reports.
The president indicated that he would convene a meeting, but with clear positions.
Radev: Nobody forces anyone to be vaccinated
“I do not see the majority of the parties with clear positions. “Some of them are busy organizing protests, others are secretly supporting and inciting the protests, others are simply saying nothing,” the president said of the pandemic restrictions. “Everyone is scared of what is happening, but no one wants to take a stand on what to do in this crisis and come up with a clear position.”
“Many parties are currently counting the votes – will they take or lose votes if they declare a clear position. Not the number of people who become infected, not the number of doctors and nurses we have, not the number of people who die every day. I call for awareness, for an understanding of what the government is doing. Yes, it is subject to criticism in some respects – the way these measures are implemented. We must do everything possible to prevent a peak that will blow up healthcare, lead to complete exhaustion of our doctors, a high level of morbidity and deaths. We must not allow it, “the head of state urged.

He noted that there have long been vaccines, every day people have been called to be vaccinated. The president gave the example of Belgium, where with more than 80 percent of vaccinated adults, everything is open.
“Vaccination is being called for, but there must be a clear understanding of what the consequences of a pandemic could be,” Radev said.
He described the situation with the epidemic in Romania as extremely worrying.
