There is no breakthrough in the security of Bulgaria, there is a breakthrough in common sense, said today President Rumen Radev upon his arrival at the Institute of Robotics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
“It is not the job of the NSO, it is not the job of the SANS or the Interior Ministry to snow before the prime minister. Their job is to warn him of possible provocations and ensure his security. They did so and received personal thanks from the prime minister,” he added. Rumen Radev.
“It is not the job of ministers to evaluate the work of services, especially when they are outside their remit. The job of ministers is to fight effectively against the severe economic and social crisis. To create conditions for sustainable economic growth that all Bulgarians expect.” , the president pointed out.
Rumen Radev expressed hope that this attack on the security services was not an attempt to politicize them. He reminded that until a year ago this was a practice and called on the government not to follow this “vicious path rejected by our society”.
“Of course, I will not ask for resignations,” the president was adamant about the desire of the co-chairs of “Democratic Bulgaria” Hristo Ivanov and Atanas Atanasov to change the heads of special services. They accused them of giving false information to deputies about the danger of war in Ukraine. In addition, the DB fears that the services are under Radev’s influence, as all chiefs have been appointed by his cabinets. Definite in the Bulgarian services has an influence on Russia, explained Hristo Ivanov.
“It is no coincidence that the heads of the security services are in office. You do not imagine that every new government or every new parliament should replace the security services. If this happens, it means that these services work for the government, but not for “Bulgaria. Especially in the field of corruption. These are mandated positions, they are offered by a decision of the Council of Ministers, and the decree is signed by the president. That is why the legislator has provided for this separation of powers. It is not accidental,” Radev said.
The President recalled that on Friday he initiated a meeting with the Prime Minister and line ministers, at which they analyzed the state and readiness of the crisis management system. “The problems are severe and extremely deep. They are not limited to disclosures, shelters, stocks of iodine tablets, etc. The problem itself is the lack of a unified national crisis management system, preparedness and especially in the bodies for management and in the preparation of the population “, said Rumen Radev.
The system has been neglected for decades, the Bulgarian president added.
Radev today visited the Institute of Robotics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to get acquainted on the spot with the operational program “Science and Education for Smart Growth” 2014-2020. Center for Competence “Quantum Communications and Intelligent Security and Management Systems risk ”.
The activity of the Center, the systems developed by it, as well as the National Plan of Bulgaria for quantum communication infrastructure will be presented to the head of state.
