/ world today news/ The first session of the 46th National Assembly will be on July 21. This was announced by President Rumen Radev from the Silistren village of Professor Ishirkovo, where he is about to start the harvest campaign in this part of Dobrudja.
“I will convene the National Assembly by decree on July 21 at 9 a.m.,” announced the head of state.
We all expect that a dialogue will finally start in the parliament, which will lead to a clear political solution with a long-term development perspective. There is a clear constitutional model and we will firmly follow it without any delay, President Rumen Radev told journalists.
The parties are expected to find a way out among themselves, “to continue the dismantling of the vicious management model, to curb theft, to strengthen the state, to finally find a way out of the economic crisis, of injustice, of poverty, to start a new a modern path for the country’s development,” the head of state emphasized.
For the first time, Radev also commented on the results of the elections, as well as the refusal of Slavi Trifonov from his cabinet, which he announced on Monday.
“I want to congratulate ITN on the election victory. What they did yesterday was to open the door to dialogue, to finding a consensus on the issues,” said the president.
Asked to comment on the possibility of the caretaker government remaining as regular, the president noted that such a decision depends on the people’s representatives and the will of the ministers themselves, but above all on reaching a consensus around clear principles and priorities for Bulgaria’s future.
Asked about the release of Prof. Asen Baltov as director of Pirogov Hospital, the head of state recalled that the ministers in the interim government have full freedom to determine personnel policy in their professional areas. The president also pointed out that one of the great expectations of our society is to finally find an effective model in healthcare: “Obviously, the current model is not working well. It sets precedents, turning health care into a business, and an unacceptable ugliness within the system.”
Rumen Radev also stated that if our country does not begin to solve the problems of young doctors, related to the opportunities to find work, specialization and qualification, as well as the provision of decent social conditions for both work and life, healthcare in Bulgaria will not to change. “The difference in pay between a newly admitted doctor, if he finds a job and a place at all, and the head of a state hospital cannot be 50 to 100 times,” the head of state emphasized.
