A message has spread across China (which pretends to be the author of AMD and XFX), according to which an unspecified bug was discovered on the Radeon RX 580, which is supposed to reduce stability. Users have to return the manufacturer Radeon RX 580 and because it is no longer produced, the XFX will replace it with a GeForce GTX 1060 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
Both AMD and XFX denied these rumors, Radeons RX 580 do not suffer from any bugs. So what is it all about? About mining. GeForce GTX 1060 in 3GB design – although originally a very widespread configuration – are no longer usable for the extraction of most profitable cryptocurrencies. 3 GB of memory is not enough. On the other hand, the Radeon RX 580 in the 4GB version is still enough for many cryptocurrencies. The author of the alarm report therefore tries to obtain usable Radeons in exchange for the no longer usable GeForce, the value of which is minimal among the miners.
If you still feel that the GeForce GTX 1060 3GB would do you a better service than the existing Radeon RX 580, then at least you know where to turn :-).
