The Radeon RX 7600 was initially expected to be priced at $329 (the same as its predecessor, the Radeon RX 6600). Not long before the release, there was talk that the official amount would not exceed $300, but in the end it was not the mandatory $299, but only $269, which had a surprisingly quick impact on the pricing of cards that were already on the market.
GeForce RTX 4060 Ti
The fastest discount touched the recently released GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. The editors of the German website 3DCenter noticed that with the official start of sales, Mindfactory offered 5 models in the price range of €449-519. Four hours later (after Radeon RX 7600 reviews were published), the price range of these five models dropped to €419-509. So the most expensive by €10, the cheapest (Palit company model) by €30.
Radeon RX 6650 XT
The model of the previous generation, close in performance, ceases to be of interest to customers (compared to the Radeon RX 7600, it has higher consumption, is a little slower and cannot compress video to the AV1 format). It is therefore not surprising that the price had to go down here as well.
Probably the biggest drop was recorded for the MSI model, which dropped from CZK 8,799 to CZK 6,182 (both minimum prices before and after the release of the Radeon RX 7600).
Radeon RX 6700 XT
Radeon RX 6700 does not make sense to deal with (it is not a commonly available model and the only offer in the Czech Republic is priceless, because for practically the same amount you can buy a significantly faster XT version. However, its price has also fallen. It is not a drop in the order of thousands (that’s the difference in performance too big compared to Radeon RX 7600), but by buying after its release you can save over three hundred on Radeon RX 6700 XT. The lowest price of Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT PULSE 12GB GDDR6 was CZK 9134 until May 25, from May 25 it was CZK 8828, which means a drop of CZK 306. (The Radeon RX 6700 without XT, available in the Czech Republic, has meanwhile risen in price to CZK 9,200).
Radeon RX 6600
The Radeon RX 6600, the long-term best value graphics card for the price/performance ratio, briefly lost this post with the release of the Radeon RX 7600. At best, the cheapest models achieved the same price / performance ratio, which (considering the small price difference) made it less interesting. It’s hard to say how long it will stay on the market, but the fact remains that a wide range of models have received discounts. For example:
- Sapphire Radeon RX 6600 PULSE 8GB GDDR6: 5530 CZK → 5160 CZK (-370 CZK)
- ASRock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger D 8GB: 5378 CZK → 4796 CZK (-582 CZK)
- MSI Radeon RX 6600 MECH 2X 8G: 6449 CZK → 5396 CZK (-1053 CZK)
Again, this is a comparison of the lowest prices before May 25 and since May 25, according to Heureka.
Radeon RX 7600 thus significantly accelerated the trend of slowly falling prices. Perhaps the only disadvantage is the poor availability and the related Radeon RX 6700 (without XT), which would still be an interesting alternative thanks to 10GB of memory. On the other hand, for 1080p resolution without raytracing, for most games the limiting factor is the performance of the graphics core rather than the memory capacity, which is negatively reflected in a single title at this setting with 8GB cards.
