RADEES allocates MAD 75 million of investments to the water and electricity sectors

The Autonomous Intercommunal Water and Electricity Distribution Authority of Safi (RADEES) has allocated some 75 million DH (MDH) of investments in the water and electricity sectors in the province under the budget year 2019.
These data were presented during the meeting of the Board of Directors of RADEES held under the chairmanship of the governor of the province of Safi, Lahoucine Chaynane, in the presence of the presidents of the communal councils of Safi and Sebt Gzoula, representatives of the central administrations. , representatives of the territorial municipalities under Safi, Tlat Bouguedra and Jemaâ Shaim, devoted to the examination of the accounts of the Régie for the 2019 budget year.
A press release from the Agency indicates that during this meeting, the Director General of RADEES, Mustapha Nahed, presented a detailed presentation on the main achievements for 2019 and the Agency’s accounts for the budget year. 2019.
In his presentation, Mr. Nahid emphasized the investments that have contributed to the preservation of yields, the improvement of customer services as well as the continued implementation of liquid sanitation projects.
The achievements are distributed between 22 million dirhams as investment in the electricity sector (30%), 25 million dirhams in the water sector (34%) and 26 million dirhams in the liquid sanitation sector (35 %).
The year 2019 was marked by the completion of several projects, including the signing of a partnership agreement relating to the implementation of a wastewater treatment project in Safi and the reuse of treated water, the acquisition and installation of a 60/20 KV electrical transformer with a power of 36 MVA (mega volt ampere) at the Azib Derai transformation center.
The past year has also seen the continuation of work to replace the main canal at the level of the drinking water network by a 630 mm canal, the continuation of the construction of rainwater drainage channels, the continuation of construction work on rainwater evacuation facilities at Place Boueddahab for flood protection.
The 2019 projects also include the continuation of the construction works of two water towers with a capacity of 1000 m2 each for the supply of Laadir and the city of Sebt Gzoula with drinking water, the construction of two pumping stations and the connection of certain housing estates to the liquid sanitation network.
In figures, RADEES made 1,132 new connections to the electricity network, 1,703 new connections to the water network, the replacement, reinforcement and extension of the electricity distribution network over 18 km and the installation of 9.5 km of drinking water distribution channels.
At the commercial and financial level, RADEES achieved an estimated gain of 38 MDH and a turnover of 417 MDH.
The Board unanimously approved the agency’s accounts as well as the other items on the agenda.
At the end of this meeting, the chairman of the board of directors highlighted the efforts of the administration of RADEES as well as the employees for improving the quality of services and ensuring the continuity of supply of populations with water and electricity despite the pandemic.
