The Radboudumc in Nijmegen must have an internist-oncologist go back to work in the hospital. In March last year, it turned out that the woman had made serious mistakes in the treatment of patients. This includes errors in the medical, communication and organizational areas.
The woman was put on hold by the hospital in August 2019. The hospital also wanted to dismiss her, but that was rejected by the subdistrict court and later also by the court because there were insufficient indications of culpable action.
The Radboudumc did not agree with this and pointed to complaints and claims for damages against the doctor. The hospital only wants to allow women back into the workplace once trust has been restored within the organization.
The doctor disagreed and went to court. That proved her right. According to the court, the woman should be given the opportunity to regain confidence. The hospital must guide her in this. She may be able to do her full work again in six months. Gelderland broadcaster writes that the hospital must also rectify previous reports about the woman.
