Now the limit for the cost of foreign parcels will be 150 euros for receiving without paying VAT and duties.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading and in general bill on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine (regarding the taxation of goods transported (sent) in international postal and express shipments). Bill No. 4278 supported 274 parliamentarians.
Now value added tax will be charged if the value of goods in parcels is more than 150 euros. To calculate taxes, checks, labels, bank statements, e-mails from online stores will be taken into account.
If the value of goods in an international parcel exceeds 150 euros, but not more than one thousand euros, then the recipient is obliged to pay 10% import duty and VAT.
In 2019, the limit for tax-free shipments of international shipments was reduced to 100 euros.
“Reducing the duty-free limit to 100 euros has led to a rapid reduction in import shipments to Ukraine, a decrease in the income of international postal and international express carriers, and the activation of “gray” schemes for importing goods across the border,” the explanatory note says.
The law enters into force on the day following its publication.
