Racist inscriptions targeting Teddy Riner and Dimitri Bascou discovered at Insep

Racist inscriptions were discovered, Sunday, June 28, on three photos of French athletes who adorn the fence surrounding the Insep of Paris, announced in a statement the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance ( Insep), which trains top athletes.

Among the vandalized photos, that of the judoka Teddy Riner and the athlete Dimitri Bascou.

“Vile and cowardly” acts

“We will not bow our heads, we will not yield any ground to hatred, cowardice and stupidity. Today I offer my friendly and unwavering support to people who are personally attacked. ”, reacted in the press release the director general of Insep, Ghani Yalouz.

The Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, described these acts as“Despicable and [de] cowards ». “The fight against racism must continue. Let us not relax our vigilance. All my support for the athletes and those who feel dirty with these revolting behaviors ”, she wrote on Twitter.
