The man was banned from all swimming pools in Espoo because of repeated inappropriate and racist behavior. Helsingin Sanomat reported on the matter.

According to the magazine, the man has behaved aggressively towards other customers and staff in the Leppävaara and Matinkylä swimming halls for several years. Racist behavior has also targeted children.

Disruptive behavior was especially troublesome at the end of the summer. The police have also had to be called because of the behavior.

The rules of order for the swimming halls of the city of Espoo state that a person who violates the rules can be removed from the swimming hall and can be banned from using the swimming halls for a specified period of time. Opposing the instructions and regulations regarding the order and safety of the staff is also a violation of the rules of order.

Issuing curfews is rare, however, says Espoo city’s director of sports services Jarmo Ikävalko tells Helsingin Sanomat.

The curfew given to the man lasts for three months: from August to the end of November.

With the gate ban, we want to remind the man that the rules of order in the swimming halls must be followed.
