According to information from The Republican Echo, racing bikes were stolen from Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), in the night of Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 October 2020.
Four teams participating in the next day’s race had equipment stolen in the parking lot of a hotel in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir). The investigation is led by the Forensic Research Unit.
On the eve of the 78th edition of the Paris-Tours cycling race, the burglars took advantage of the absence of vehicle surveillance to break the windows of the vehicles which contained the material.
Over € 14,000 of stolen equipment
The booty would be estimated at more than € 14,000. The criminals stole several tool boxes, six bikes, professional outfits, a tablet, and a television screen.
The victims filed a complaint this Monday 12 October 2020.
