Disney’s "Snow White" Unveils a New Trailer: A Princess’s Fight for Freedom
A captivating new trailer for Disney’s live-action "Snow White" has debuted, offering a glimpse into a reimagined fairytale classic. Starring Rachel Zegler as the iconic princess and Gal Gadot as the nefarious Evil Queen, the film promises a fresh take on the beloved story.
The trailer opens with Gadot, radiating elegance and menace as the Queen, consulting her glistening magic mirror. Her desire for eternal beauty sets the stage for a captivating power struggle. We see glimpses of the Queen’s iconic poison apple, a symbol of her desperate attempt to eliminate Snow White.
Zegler shines as Snow White, a princess known for her kindness and resilience. The trailer showcases both her vulnerability and inner strength as she navigates the Queen’s treachery and fights for her rightful place in the kingdom.
Adding to the magic, the movie features the timeless charm of the seven dwarfs: Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. Together, they rally around Snow White, offering friendship and support in her fight against darkness.
Zegler, known for her powerful vocals in "West Side Story" and "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes", delivers a heartfelt rendition of the new song "Waiting on a Wish," highlighting her character’s unwavering hope and determination.
Director Marc Webb, known for "The Amazing Spider-Man," aims to capture both the classic essence of the fairytale and a modern sensibility. The film features original music by acclaimed songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, promising a captivating soundtrack to Snow White’s journey.
Zegler recently shared that one of the film’s core messages focuses on the strength that women possess. “For any young woman or young person, it’s remembering how strong you actually are." she said.
Director Webb commended Zegler’s portrayal of Snow White, noting her “inherent grace, poise, and goodness” which perfectly embody the character’s iconic spirit.
Gadot, renowned for her role as Wonder Woman, shared her meticulous approach to portraying the Evil Queen, emphasizing the depth and complexity of the character.
“I wanted to make sure that we keep her delightful and delicious, and we understand what makes her tick. Then the evilness is interesting and not just flat,” Gadot revealed.
"Snow White" is set to enchant audiences nationwide when it premieres on March 21, 2024.
