“Looking back, we got married absurdly fast,” writes Rachel. “We got back together forever in January 1991 and got married on October 14, 1991, exactly nine months later.”
He still wonders why it happened so fast. “You arranged our wedding completely and I wasn’t allowed to interfere with anything. We laughed so much together over our wedding card. There is no such thing as more civil, but even that suited us so well.”
52-year-old Rachel also posts photos of the original invitation, on which André is depicted as a bride. “When I look back on my life with you, it somehow always makes me smile,” wrote the widow. “Because although we have known high peaks and deep valleys together, my life with you will always remain a party.”
“Despite the fact that we also suffered together, we still laughed uncontrollably together most of the time,” concludes Rachel. “If only we could laugh together so hard, darling, let the tears roll down our cheeks again.”
André Hazes died on September 23, 2004 of heart problems. The popular folk singer was 53 years old.
