Rachel Hazes is disappointed and indignant that the will of her late husband André Hazes has been made public through the media. According to Hazes, the published parts of it give a distorted picture of reality, she writes on Instagram.
Weekly magazine Private in The Telegraph published this week from the will. They stated, among other things, that around the death of the folk singer in 2004, divorce proceedings were underway between Rachel and André. The papers show that Rachel would receive nothing upon André’s death if there were any divorce proceedings.
According to Rachel, there was no question of her and André separating. “The suggestion that André and I would have been in a divorce at the time of his death touches me deeply.”
She says that her biggest fear has come true with the leak. “I would like to shout from the rooftops what my side of the story is. But as long as the case is before the court, I choose not to discuss the matter further.”
‘Have done everything to settle the estate properly’
Daughter Roxeanne and a former testamentary administrator went to court earlier this month. According to them, Rachel falsely presented herself as the singer’s heiress.
“I can say (…) hand on heart that I have done everything I can to properly settle André’s estate and that I have never had any secrets from my children,” writes Rachel.
“Finally, I have always made an effort to be a good mother and to put my children’s best interests first. The fact that I have failed in this in the eyes of some is between me and my daughter.”
‘Be publicly despised, ridiculed and ridiculed’
Rachel says she feels sad and sleeps badly. Opinions about her affect her. “I am a ‘swindler’ or at least a bad mother, who – at the expense of my children – pocketed part of the inheritance. I am publicly despised, mocked and downright laughed at. I wonder if people realize what of this is the impact.”
The verdict in the summary proceedings is expected on February 23.
