Rachel Hazes is involved in several lawsuits. Today she is back in court. This time the question is whether Rachel’s daughter Roxeanne and her former business partners can still be heard by a judge.
Due to a breakdown in 2016, Hazes gave her daughter Roxeanne and then business partners Marieke van Beek and Rob Israël power of attorney to act on her behalf. The widow of André Hazes Sr. states that her interests were not properly represented during the power of attorney, which lasted until early 2018.
Hazes would not have been well informed about the choices made by the supervisors. The power of attorney was also allegedly misused. Thousands of euros would have been lost this way. Recordings of telephone conversations in Hazes’ possession would confirm her claims. According to her lawyer Royce de Vries, it is therefore “important to hear the witnesses again under oath”.
The Amsterdam court ruled in June that Hazes could only hear her former business partners Van Beek and Israël and daughter Roxeanne about an invoice of 24,000 euros for a coaching program. The rest of Hazes’ request was rejected because she had no interest in it. De Vries called that “incomprehensible”.
The lawyer for Roxeanne, Van Beek and Israël stated during the hearing that they are “framed as thieves, while it has not been proven that they have siphoned tens of thousands of euros into their account, as De Vries claims”. The lawyer also stated that he saw no point in a witness hearing. “Everything appears to have been taped. What will a preliminary witness hearing bring to the parties?”
Today Hazes will hear in the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam whether her former business partners and Roxeanne can still be heard by a judge.
Hazes is currently involved in several lawsuits with Roxeanne and Van Beek
This is not the only lawsuit that mother and daughter Hazes are involved in. Roxeanne’s lawyer confirms RTL Boulevard after reports from Yvonne Coldeweijer that there will be substantive proceedings against Rachel. This case concerns income that Rachel allegedly wrongly received because she was not André Hazes’ rightful heir.
Van Beek worked as an office manager and personal assistant at Melvin Produkties, Hazes’ production company, until March 2020. The two were also good friends. But Hazes and Van Beek are now involved in several conflicts, including over overdue rent that Van Beek is said to owe Hazes.
