Rachel Hazes (54) does not want her son to use the name André Hazes any longer. She wants him to keep the name André Hazes Jr. as an artist. The singer’s management confirms the news RTL Boulevardafter reporting from the juice channel RealityFBI.
Rachel Hazes has ordered her son, with whom she has had a difficult relationship for years, to no longer use her late husband’s name. RTL Boulevard writes that the news came out of nowhere for the 30-year-old singer. “In his opinion, he is the proud successor to his father,” according to his management.
The singer is “extremely affected”, writes RTL Boulevard after a conversation with his management. He would like to continue using the name André Hazes and is currently discussing next steps with his team.

Rachel manages her late husband’s brand name. It is not clear within what period André must respond to his mother’s summons.

The issue would not affect André Hazes’ presence at Holland Zingt Hazes, the music event co-organized by Rachel, writes RTL Boulevard. However, the name on the poster will be discussed with the parties involved: André Hazes Jr. or simply André Hazes.
Also lawsuit with daughter about inheritance
In the meantime, the lawsuit between Rachel and her daughter Roxeanne Hazes is still ongoing. Rachel would have wrongly received income as an heiress of Andre Hazes (sr.), says Roxeanne.
According to Roxeanne, Rachel Hazes is not the singer’s heir because divorce proceedings were underway at the time of his death. The singer’s will stipulated that Rachel would receive nothing.
In February last year, the judge ruled that she can continue to call herself an heiress, even though technically she is not one. Rachel may also continue to use the copyright (music and lyrics) and the singer’s image, the judge then determined during summary proceedings; it must first be determined in a more extensive court case what she is entitled to.
