Nissan e.Dams racer Maximilian Gunther admits he fell in love with the title Formula E Jakarta which was completed on Saturday (4/6).
Gunther still gave the praise even though the results he achieved at the Ancol Circuit were far from satisfactory. The German racer could only finish in 14th position and failed to score points.
“Really love racing in Jakarta, even if things don’t go well. 14th in the end with some good action,” wrote Gunther on his Instagram account.
“Thank you to all the amazing fans. You made this weekend special. Time to get ready for Marrakech,” he continued.
The Jakarta Formula E race was won by Jaguar Racing’s Mitch Evans. The New Zealand racer won dramatically over Jean Eric-Vergne with a lead of only 0.733 seconds.
The victory at the Ancol Circuit made Evans enter the race for the Formula E title at the end of this season. He rose to fourth place behind Edoardo Mortara, Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne.
Mortara, who finished third, also gave praise for the Jakarta Formula E event. According to him, racing at the Ancol Circuit will always be a special moment.
The Swiss racer also praised the quality of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) track. According to him, the 2.4 kilometer long circuit has its own sensation because this is the first time it has been used.
