Rabies Vaccination Days: Protect Your Pets and Yourself in Argentina

The Directorate of Bromatology and Animal Care remembers the last two vaccination days within the framework of Rabies Week:
Today until 1 p.m., the staff will be vaccinating in Plaza Miter.
Meanwhile, on Monday, October 2, the day will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Plaza Marte located on Av. Pte. Perón and Av. Alvear (activity that was rescheduled due to inclement weather).
The rabies vaccine will be administered to all felines and canines over 3 months old that have not been vaccinated within the last year.
The area emphasizes the importance of keeping all dogs and cats vaccinated annually, since Rabies is a zoonosis, that is, it is a disease that is transmitted from animals to humans, which has no treatment once it starts. symptoms and can cause death.
We also want to remember the importance of going to the nearest health center for any bite wound. The virus present in the infected animal can be transmitted through the wound caused by a bite, a scratch or when the animal licks a part of the body of the recently injured person. Both rural and urban animals are at risk of contracting the disease.
