“Until now, Bogor Regency has not received any reports of rabies cases. However, even so, there is still anticipation because rabies is indeed incidental,” he said in Cibinong, Monday (7/8).
According to him, rabies transmission is caused by animal bites, both pets and wild animals that carry the rabies virus.
Even though there are still zero cases, his party appealed to the public to be careful of animal bites.
“Rabies treatment must be fast, the more symptoms appear, the more difficult it is to handle, so it’s best if you are bitten by an animal suspected of being infected with rabies, you must immediately go to a health facility,” said Agus.
The Bogor District Health Office has also prepared a rabies vaccine in anticipation of cases of rabies being found.
