The first edition of the Moroccan electronic games exhibition (Morocco gaming expo), organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, will take place from May 24 to 26 in Rabat.
This event, the first of its kind in Morocco, constitutes an opportunity for meetings and exchanges between international companies in the sector, the establishment of national and international partnerships and participation in training sessions in all areas relating to electronic games. , indicates the ministry in its press release.
The show aims to strengthen and promote the electronic games industry in Morocco, by highlighting the “Rabat gaming city” project, which aims in particular to create a cluster of national and foreign companies, to become a source of creation of new jobs and a center of cultural and social creativity in the capital, as well as establishing itself as one of the largest Hubs in the electronic games sector in Africa and the Middle East and North Africa region, adds the press release.
Access to the show will be free with prior registration required. The latter will be made up of three spaces: The first is an exhibition space made up of pavilions dedicated mainly to the Moroccan sector, including those of Rabat gaming city, Start-ups, industrial incubators, universities and training establishments, financing organizations and infrastructure providers (equipment, communications networks, data centers, etc.).
As for the second space of the exhibition, it will be intended for conferences and training sessions on electronic games with Moroccan and foreign specialists, while the third will be dedicated to “ESPORTS” electronic sports competitions.
Note that the global electronic games market occupied first place in the cultural and creative industries with a value of 295 billion US dollars in 2022. According to the press release, it is expected that this growth will continue and that the turnover of the sector would amount to 321 billion US dollars by 2026.
