R1 (1st day). Ploërmel FC – Espérance Chartres-de-Bretagne: 3-1
The Ploërmelais kept their backs at the start of the match then a contentious decision allowed them to open the scoring from a penalty by Mathieu Gousset (33′). They then came back with better intentions in the second half and managed to score in quick succession, thanks to Gousset well served in the area by Manzano, and by Le Glatin with a beautiful uncontrolled strike. Chartres reduced the score through Jamin, who saw his deflected shot lob Persehaie who could do nothing. Jérôme Maret, the new PFC coach, was very satisfied with the performance of his players: “It validates our good preparation. The contract is fulfilled.” For Julien Pannier, there was disappointment: “We lacked consistency and we were naive defensively. The schedule is difficult at the start of the season, we will have to find automatisms.”
