Anyone who wants to hit the slopes in Italy from January must prove that they have personal liability insurance. R + V provides its customers with written proof of insurance at short notice. This saves skiers having to take out an additional daily policy on site.
Skiing is a popular sport. In the Alpine countries alone, more than 20 million winter sports enthusiasts are out and about every year. But because the risk of injury is high – around a third of all sports accidents happen while skiing – Italy has now reacted and requires tourists to have valid liability insurance for property damage and personal injury. Without a proof, the athletes are not allowed to go on the slopes.
Do not go on the slopes without valid personal liability insurance
“We offer our customers a special service: when they call us, we immediately email them an insurance certificate,” says Benny Barthelmann, liability expert at R + V Versicherung. “Of course, that also works when they are already on vacation.” The skiers then receive a digital document that they can present at the lift.
The insurance cover also applies to holidays abroad and includes winter sports. “We’ll send the confirmation to the policyholder. He can forward the proof to his family members via WhatsApp, for example. So everyone has the confirmation on their own smartphone, ”explains Barthelmann.
