London, May 26 (EFE) .- The United Kingdom notified another 3,180 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest number registered in this country since mid-April, according to official data released this Wednesday.
The figures provided by the British Ministry of Health also reveal that another nine deaths were recorded from covid-19 in that period.
The last time that 3,000 infections were exceeded by the virus in the United Kingdom as a whole was on April 12, when there were 3,568 positives.
The Government continues with its national immunization program and to date has administered the first dose of the vaccine to a total of 38,378,564 people, while another 23,616,498 citizens have already received their second injection.
This information comes after the controversial Dominic Cummings, who was chief adviser and “right hand” to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, told two parliamentary committees today that the government made serious “mistakes” in its handling of the pandemic, that cost thousands of lives “unnecessarily”.
