A juror in the case of R&B star R. Kelly in Chicago suffered a panic attack during a disruption of the proceedings and was excused by the judge.
TMZ reports that during the trial on Monday, September 12, 2022, the white juror began having a panic attack after the prosecution presented his conclusive argument.
The judge said he had been told the juror “couldn’t last another minute” and apologized, according to reporter Jon Seidel.
The judge says a white substitute juror is taking his place and, like the juror he is replacing, this guy also hasn’t seen the documentary “Surviving R. Kelly”.
As the trial draws to a close, the defense team presents its concluding arguments, after the prosecution snatched R. Kelly to start the day, calling him a sexual predator who used his celebrity status to abuse minors.
R. Kelly, who has already been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison following a June sentence in New York, is expected to know his fate soon, depending on how long it takes for the jury to reach the verdict.
