American singer R. Kelly has been sentenced to prison again for sexual abuse. This time he was convicted of making child pornography and having sex with minors. All told, he faces 31 years in prison.
Robert Sylvester Kelly was sentenced today to 20 years in prison. But 19 years of that overlapped with a previous sentence imposed on him in New York, the federal judge in Chicago ruled. Effectively, today, a year in prison has been added for the 56-year-old singer.

“I was brainwashed by Robert,” one victim was quoted from her written statement. She had been made into a sex slave of her own accord. “It almost killed me.” According to the prosecution, Kelly has shown no remorse for his wrongdoing.
The R&B singer was present in court. According to journalists, he appeared resigned and constantly looked down. He has not commented on the verdict. However, his lawyer said it was “a reasonable” outcome of the lawsuit.
The Grammy winner has sold tens of millions of albums in his career. The first allegations of sexual abuse came in the late 1990s. He was eventually sentenced to 30 years in prison only last year.
